Born in Barcelona, Eva Jiménez was raised between the city's Sant Andreu district and rural Vallès Oriental. After studying Spanish Literature and working as a colorist for a local animation studio, she moved to New York, where she pursued independent studies in drawing, painting, and sculpture at The Art Students League — supporting herself along the way with work in galleries, bookstores, and ushering at Lincoln Center. She went on to earn her MFA in Painting from the New York Studio School under Graham Nickson, and was later an artist-in-residence with the Rosemary Beck Foundation.

I make art to bear witness to light, time, space, vibration. Every mark on paper or canvas pays homage to the physical presence of places, objects, and people. I aim to record that these things existed and convey some of their essence, which continues to speak to me through time.
